Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

Well the Sons of Sek got finished right under the wire. The GT was a blast and I'll have full coverage by this weekend.

More Easterlings Finished (Bowmen and Swordsmen)

With school over for the year, I've begun putting more time in on my summer projects. The first project is my Lord of the Rings Easterlings, the majority of which I hope to have finished by the end of the weekend.

Tuesday night I finished 8 swordsmen, and just now I finished 6 Bowmen.

You can find steps on how I painted these here.

I still have the following left to do:
6x Bowmen
6x Kataphrakts
4x Spearmen
2x Captains on foot
1x Banner
12x Swordsmen

Well, just looking at this list, I'm not very optimistic I can get this all done this weekend, especially since I will be playing in a 40k tournament on Saturday. I'll more than likely need next week to complete these as well. Then I'll have to try and make up some time while working on Anthony's Uruk-Hai.

I guess I missed it the first time around, you say you used the straw from the GW Hero basing kit for their bases, is there enough in that kit to do that to about 25 models do you think?

I like the look and might be tempted to try it with my army.

Yep, the straw's from the basing kit. I've done 22 models so far (way behind schedule) and I've gone through maybe 1/6 of the tub, if that much.
Are you talking about for your Lustwing? I think the straw would work well with them.

Yep, the Lustwing, I like the look of the straw... like it's dead, overgrown grass almost.
I think it would fit into the paint scheme and would add a nice touch to the bases and help give the army a "finished" look overall.

I'm going to see if I can find some and do a test model for effect.
